Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the smal size, constitution and adjustment, by providing the branch waveguide at two sides of the waveguide in which the both ends are square in different size and its way is changed in taper or step shape. CONSTITUTION:The length of one side of the square waveguides 5 and 6 is respectively taken as a1 and a2, and the size of the end surface 7 is a1xa1, the end surfaces 8 and 9 are a1xa2, and the end surface 9 is as a2 X a2, and toward the end surface 7 to the end surface 8, the size of direction 12 is changed in taper and toward the end surface 9 to 10, the size of direction 11 is changed in stepwise from a1 to a2. Taking lambda1 and lambda2 as the in-guide wave length of electromagnetic waves F1 and F2, 2a1>lambda1, and lambda1>2a2>lambda2 are made. Further, the branch waveguides 3 and 4 coupled to the polarized component having electric field in the directions 11 and 12 are provided. Thus, the vertical polarized component 11 of the electromagnetic wave F1 is all branched to the waveguide 5 since the end surface 8 is cut off, and the horizontal polarized component 12 is similarly all branched to the waveguide 4. The electromagnetic wave F2 is outputted to the waveguide 6 without being branched to the waveguides 3 and 4.
