Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the loss and out-band suppression degree by providing a striped waveguide means where striped parts with a fast acoustic speed which are thin and long in the direction of the (SAW) propagation path and striped parts with a slow acoustic wave speed are arranged alternately at right angles to a surface acoustic wave (SAW) propagation path on the SAW propagation path. CONSTITUTION:A striped waveguide means 5 is formed between input and output slanting electrodes 2 and 3. In general, when there are both a fast-speed wave and a slow-speed wave together, wave motion energy moves to the slow- speed wave concentrically. An SAW has a similar phenomenon and the SAW energy concentrates upon the part with the slow acoustic speed. For the purpose, a striped propagating means 5 consisting of striped parts which are thin and long in the SAW propagation path direction is provided and the SAW is propagated in the lengthwise direction of the striped parts, i.e. in the SAW propagation path direction and even an SAW having a slanting component radiated by the slanting electrodes 2 is also propagated in the propagation path direction. Consequently, problems such as a loss increase and a bulk wave are solved.
