Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a flexible waveguide which is useful in a wide range of the linear polarized electromagnetic wave of an ultrahigh frequency and can be consecutively produced, by setting a cocoon-shaped cross section so as to be expressed by a specific function formula of the X-Y orthogonal coordinate system. CONSTITUTION:For a cocoon-shaped cross section 3, a cord type linear form of a booth formed exactly or approximately is considered. The function formula, in general, is expressed for the X-Y orthogonal coordinate system as (X<2>+Y<2>)<2>+ (4b<2>-a<2>)(X<2>+Y<2>)=4b<2>X<2> and 2b<a (cord type linear form of a booth).A proper range of parameter is set for the cord type linear form of a booth as a waveguide as 0.40<m<0.45(m=b/a) 1.08<=2a/A<1.20 (A:length of the longer side of a square waveguide corresponding to connection). In such way, a flexible waveguide, which is useful in a wide range of the linear polarized electromagnetic wave of an ultrahigh frequency and also can be consecutively produced, is obtained.
