Abstract

PURPOSE:To destaticize the dielectric sheet and transfer sheet uniformly, when transferring plural toner images sequentially by overlapping by applying electric field to the same transfer member, by applying corona discharge simultaneously from corona dischargers disposed on both sides of the dielectric sheet after each transfer. CONSTITUTION:A corona discharger 12 is placed on the side where a transfer sheet S of dielectric sheet 21 to constitute a transfer drum is adsorbed, and a DC power source 41 and an AC power source 42 are connected in series to a wire electrode 12a of the discharger 12. Another corona discharger 11 of the same type is arranged on the side of the dielectric sheet 21 confronting to the corona discharger 12, and the wire electrode 11a thereof is connected to other AC power source 43. Thus, due to discharge from the two corona dischargers 11, 12, the transfer sheet S and dielectric sheet 21 are destaticized simultaneously, so that uniform destaticization may be achieved by covering up the destaticizing effect each other. Besides, the transferred toner is also destaticized at the same time. Hence, excellent transfer free from reverse transfer or uneven transfer may be achieved.
