Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject meter wherein the correlation between a signal applied to a sender and a signal received by a receiver is utilized thereby to improve the measuring accuracy of the meter. CONSTITUTION:A delay time variable circuit 25 is connected to an oscillator 19 and a ultrasonic receiver 23 is connected through an amplifier 24, a difference operation circuit 26 and a minimum value detection circuit 27 to a delay time variable circuit 25. As a result, a sending signal from the oscillator 19 is supplied as input to the delay time variable circuit 25 and also to a ultrasonic wave sender 20, and a generated ultrasonic wave is propagated in the fluid 22 and received by the ultrasonic wave receiver 23, thus being amplified. Thereafter, the difference between said signal and a delay sending signal from the delayd time variable circuit 25 is calculated, and a minimum value is detected by a minimum detection circuit 27 and supplied as input to the delay time variable circuit 25 as a variable time control signal, the delay time variable controlled by the control signal being operated into a flow quantity signal at a flow quantity operating circuit 28 and indicated in an indicator 29.
