Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit an on-line measurement of fluid concentration by obtaining the ultrasonic-wave propagation speed which varies with fluid concentration as the phase difference, by which fluid concentration is measured.
CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic wave is output from an ultrasonic vibrator 11. The ultrasonic wave with a phase difference is received by an ultrasonic-wave receiving element 12 arranged so as to be separated from the vibrator 11 by a distance l. Outputs from the first and second mixer circuits 22 and 25 are supplied for tuning and filter curcuits 23 and 25 respectively, outputs from which are input to a time difference comparator circuit 28 through a shaping circuit 24 and 27 respectively. The times difference between input rectangular waves is supplied from the time difference comparator circuit 28 for a gate circuit 30, computed in an operation unit 31, and the fluid concentration is displayed on an indicator.
