Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a synthetic resin form which is excellent in strength and highly resistant to solvents and oils by covering the surface of a foamed synthetic resin form having independent bubbles with a solvent-resistant material, applying a glass fiber-reinforced synthetic resin composition to the outer layer, and curing the composition.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a foamed synthetic resin form such as polystyrene, polyethylene, polyurethane, and polyvinyl chloride which has independent bubbles is covered with a solvent-resistant material. As the solvent-resistant material, there is used a film of a polyolefin resin such as polyethylene, halogenated resin, nylon, or the like, preferably a uniaxially oriented contractive film. The outer layer of the thus-obtained covered foamed form is covered with a glass fiber-reinforced synthetic resin, to produce a synthetic resin form. The form thus obtained is used as a float of rafts for fishing, beacon, culture, or the like, or as a construction material, shipbuilding material, tank constructin material, or the like.
