Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and improve lighting characteristics, by magnetically coupling primary widing and a part of secondary winding via a magnetic shunt and placing the remaining part of the secondary winding opposite the other part of the secondary winding with respect to the primary winding. CONSTITUTION:In primary winding P1, power supply voltage is impressed on iron core 1. Secondary winding is divided into S and P2. Magnetic shunt 2 is placed between winding P1 and winding part S. Iron core 1 is provided with magnetic flux control slit 4 at the place which becomes a magnetic path of part S of secondary winding. The remaining part P2 of secondary winding is placed, via winding P1, opposite part S of secondary winding. Namely, the order of coils to be wound on iron core 1 is: part S of secondary winding, primary winding P1, and the remaining part P2 of secondary winding. Winding P1 is set at the power supply impressed voltage or a value close to it, and the sum of voltages of P1 and secondary winding (S+P2) is set at a minimum value of the lamp maintenance voltage.
