Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the strength and lighten the weight of a plate-spring for vehicle by solidifying a metal surface layer made of metal and a inner layer made of reinforced fiber resin as a composite body. CONSTITUTION:On the back surface of the outer layer 13 consisting of thin plate- spring made of steel, a reinforced member 17 of the same or the similar material is fixed along the longitudinal direction of the layer 13. End part of the layer 13 is bent so as to envelop the bush 21, and its tip 13a is turned back being welded on the layer 13. In the vicinity of the tip 13a, reinforcement members 19 are laid with equal interval athwartwise and fixed. A reinforced inner 15, made of reinforced fiber resin is mechanically jointed in jagged manner on the above mentioned reinforced members 17, 19 which are fixed on the surface layer 13, and they constitute a plate-spring 11 being solidified into a composite body. A load to cause a damage on the inner layer 15 is to be borne by the outer layer 13, and never render damage on the whole plate-spring body.
