Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the captioned powder and granule layer of high porosities and manufacture the superior heat transfer material by spraying the mixed granules of the first powder and granules of Al or Al alloy and the second powder and granules of Al alloy of a melting point lower than that of said powder and granules on a metal plate of a melting point higher than that of Al and sintering the same at the specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Mixed granules 2 are sprayed on a steel plate 1 of, e.g., austenite- base- or ferrite-base stainless steel or the like. Said mixed granules 2 consist of the first powder and granules of Al or Al alloy and the second powder and granules being Al alloy of a melting point lower by more than 10°C than that of the first powder and granules. In this state, the powder and granules are heated and sintered at the temperature lower by more than 10°C than the melting point of the first powder and granules and higher than the melting point of the second powder and granules in a non-oxidative atmosphere, e.g., reducing atmosphere or inert atmosphere of H2 or other. The second powder and granules melt and bond between the first powder and granules, thereby forming a porous body 3 of high porosities. In addition, they enter the crevices of the Cr oxide film of the steel plate 1 surface, thus integrally bonding the porous body 3 and the steel plate 1.
