Abstract

PURPOSE: In an electrical power device for heating welding wire, to manufacture a power device which does not require a transformer with constant voltage characteristic, is cheap in cost and excellent in manipulation by connecting a resistor between terminals of the output part of a transformer with constant current characteristic.
CONSTITUTION: In a power device by which a deposite pool is formed on a parent substance 8 through wire 7, a transformer 1 with constant current characteristic instead of conventional constant voltage characteristic is equipped and a resistor is set between terminals of the output part of the transformer 1. As a result, the maximum output voltage of the transformer can be changed by the output current. In other words, the maximum output voltage of the transformer 1 for the resistance R3 and output current I0 in the resistor 15 is determined by R3 if the current is I0. The value of resistance R3 is determined to keep the maximum voltage where arc is not generated in the gap between the wire 7 and the parent substance 8 when a conventional unsteady state appear. In this method uniformity of welded beads can be obtained by a cheap device.
