Abstract
PURPOSE: To unify a ratio of an axle load to an output therefor with respect to each driving axles and prevent idlings during power running by additionally exciting a field current of a D.C. motor for driving a coach in accordance with an amount of a change of the axle load.
CONSTITUTION: A rectifier 15 for supplying D.C. current to main electric motors M1-M4 is provided in a secondary coil of a main transformer 11. Rectifiers for additional exciting REC1-REC4 are connected to another secondary coil 35. The amount of current for the additional exciting is adjusted in accordance with the amount of variation of the axle load in each axle from the first to the fourth axle respectively during power running and a ratio of revolving power to the axle load is controlled so as to keep same ratio for respective axles. During branking, also, a sense and an amount of the additional exciting current are controlled, and an adjustment in a same manner as that for power running is effected.
