Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain linear characteristics of shock absorber, by providing a movable member having a coefficient of thermal expansion different from that of the cylinder at one end of a slidable member in which orifices are to be formed, such that opening areas of the orifices are changed depending on the temperature of oil. CONSTITUTION:At one end of slidable member 16 forming orifices 13, there is fixed a movable member 20 having a coefficient of thermal expansion different from that of cylinder 3 and adapted for shifting the slidable member 16, depending on the rise of oil temperature, to a direction reducing the opening areas of orifices formed between the first ports 14 and the second ports 18. Therefore, the oil in the first oil chamber 11 and the second oil chamber 12 is communicated with each other through orifices 13, while changing their opening areas depending on the oil temperature, so that it is enabled to attain linear characteristics of shock absorbing force both at the expansion and compression sides of the operation of shock absorber.
