Abstract

PURPOSE:To plan to prevent an impacting collision between both pistons upon abnormal shock absorbing by providing either a free piston or a piston with an elastic member. CONSTITUTION:An elastic member 17 is provided on a free piston 8 at an end portion of an oil chamber 7B in a cylinder 7 so as to oppose to a piston 12. Locatings of the elastic member 17 and a orifice 14 are effected so as not to close the orifice 14 for generating a damping force for the piston 12 due to a collision between the elastic member 17 and the piston 12. The piston 8 is located so as not to cause the collision between the piston 12 and the elastic member 17 under normal operations. Even when oil filled up a gas chamber 7A due to an deteriorated sealing capability of an elastic sealing 9 and the collision between the piston 12 and the free piston 8 was occured, the elastic member 17 absorbs an impacting force and the damping operation may be effected smoothly by the orifice 14.
