Abstract

PURPOSE: To compare and discriminate the internal pressure in a sealed container by compensating and calculating a discrimination standard value on the basis of a mean measured value of the internal pressures of a group of sealed containers, which have already been inspected, and by comparing the mean measured value with a value being measured.
CONSTITUTION: The various physical variations appearing in a cover al in accordance with the internal pressure of a can to be inspected are converted by a detecting circuit device 1 into analog electric signals S1 of electricity, which are further converted by a digital measuring circuit device 2 into digital signals S2 and are guided into a comparing and discriminating circuit device 3. On the other hand, a discrimination standard value arithmetic circuit device 5 receives the digital signals S2 to compensate the same thereby to generate relative discrimination standard value signals S3. These signals are guided into the device 3 and are compared with the digital signals S2 to generate internal pressure defect judging signals S4, when the can is judged defective, so that the corresponding can is removed from a feed belt conveyor.
