CONSTITUTION:Soot formed by imperfect combustion of pertroleum or the like with burner 3 in soot coat forming chamber 7 is adhered to surface-activated steel strip 1, forming a hot dipping preventive side. At this time, in order to prevent movement of excess soot to side A to be hot dipped the soot is forced to be drawn with blower 22 through openings 23, 24, duct 20 and dust collector 21. A baffle plate is simultaneously set to prevent movement of soot to side A of strip 1 in chamber 7. Strip 1 is passed through hot dipping vessel 10 to surely hot dip side A, and the soot adhered to side B is removed with top roll 11 in chamber 18. The removed soot reaches collector 21, where it is treated together with the drawn soot. Thus, invasion of soot to side A is prevented.
