Abstract

PURPOSE: A flame-retardant putty composition that is composed of a chloroprene polymer that is liquid at room temperature, alumina hydrate, and heat-resistant fibers, thus having adequate flexibility and adhesion at room temperature, and showing high air-tight sealing properties.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) 100 parts by wt of liquid chloroprene polymer that has functional groups on the chain terminals and a viscosity of 5000W300000 cps at room temperature are added (B) 200W700 parts of alumina hydrate mix consisting of 100 parts of that with an average particle size of 10W100μm and 20W300 parts of that with an average aprticle size below 10μm and (C) 15W100 parts of inorganic fiber mix consisting of 100 parts of glass fiber of less than 100μm fiber diameter and 2W15mm length and 10W300 parts of asbestos fiber of less than 100μm diamter and 2W15mm length.
