Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition showing improved nondripping properties and toughness even in a fire, and filling properties, obtained by blending a curable polychloroprene liquid at normal temperature with a hydrated metallic oxide, heat- resistant fibers, silane coupling agent, etc. in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. curable liquid polychloroprene (usually containing a curing agent, e.g., metallic oxide, etc.) liquid at normal temperature is blended with (B)200W700pts.wt., preferably 250W450pts.wt. hydrated metallic oxide [preferably Al2O3.nH2O (n is 0.5W6) causing a weight loss on heating not less than 20wt% and having average particle diameter not more than 80μ, etc.], (C) 20W100pts.wt., preferably 20W60pts.wt. heat-resistant fiber (preferably glass fibers with diameters of 0.5W50μ and length of 1W20mm), and an amount of the components B and C is not less than 250pts.wt., and (D) not more than 30pts.wt., preferably 2W10pts.wt. silane coupling agent (e.g., γ-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane, etc.) or titanium coupling agent.
