Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the distribution of fuel to a cylinder without adding any complicated mechanism or change mainly in an electronically controlled single- spot fuel injector, by providing a very simple member for stopping the flow of injected fuel.
CONSTITUTION: An electronically controlled single-spot fuel injector has a fuel injection valve opened into an intake pipe 10 at the downstream side of a throttle valve. A cylindrical member 12 is provided at such a place in the intake pipe 10 at the downstream side of the nozzle 11 of the fuel injection valve opened into the intake pipe that the flow (a) of injected fuel is stopped by the cylindrical member. When the primary throttle valve 3 is fully open, the flow or injected fuel is forcedly oriented downward by the cylindrical member 12. Therefore, the direction of the fuel flow coincides with that of air flow, the fuel and the air are mixed well with each other and the fuel is atomized.
