Abstract
PURPOSE:To always efficiently run an engine and optionally and easily set an optimal ignition timing characteristic, by using the revolution speed and the sucked air quantity of the engine as basic parameters for determining the ignition time. CONSTITUTION:An ignition timing device 8 comprises a revolution signal generator 10 which produces four reference signals T of prescribed angle width per revolution and seven-hundred and twenty angle signals CLtheta per revolution, a sucked air quantity detector 2, an engine speed calculation circuit 20, a calculation timing determination circuit 30, a sucked air quantity calculation circuit 40, an ignition time calculation circuit 100 and a primary coil control circuit 200. Engine condition detectors such as a cranking switch 11, an idling switch 12, a water temperature switch 13 and a throttle valve full opening detector 14 are connected to the ignition timing device 8. The ignition time calculation circuit 100 is made of programming elements to read the ignition time as theta=f(N, Ga/N) wherein theta denotes the ignition time, Ga the sucked air quantity and N the revolution speed.
