Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate influence of weather and control dust pollution, by transporting water-crushed slag, after heating and drying in a hopper, to a pier and loading a ship by means of a pneumatic conveyor using compressed air.
CONSTITUTION: Water-crushed slag 2 produced in an iron-works is transported by a truck 1 and put in a hopper 3 through a charging device 4 and dehydrated under heat treatment using steam piping 7 arranged in the hopper 3. Air with high water content is discharged from a ventilating port 5 equipped with a filter 6 for arresting dust. The dehydrated slag 2 is discharged through a gate 10 and dumped on a tank wagon 11 for transporting to a pier. The slag 2 is then pneumatically conveyed into a hold aboard a ship through a valve 13 by means of compressed air fed from a valve 12.
