Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify controlling and to promote safety by connecting shoots of special structures to an upper hopper with a universal joint between.
CONSTITUTION: A hopper shoot system 22 to be equipped at the top of a loading arm is constructed by connecting a hopper 29 firm fixed on a loading arm to a shoot 34 to be slided for extension by oil pressure cylinders 42 with a universal joint 30 between. In this construction, when oil pressure cylinders 42 are operated by remote controlling, the shoot 34 and a sub-shoot 37 naturally suspended from the hopper 29 by self-weights with the universal joint 30 between are extended downward, and a rubber flange 39 in the lower end is guided to a hopper 40 of a grain cargo vessel for giving centre alignment between the sub-shoot 37 and a supply port 41. As the pitching of the vessel is absorbed by the vertical movement of the sub-shoot 37 through rollers 36 and the rolling by the universal joint 30, grain cargoes are loaded on the vessel through conveyers 23 and 46, hoppers 29 and 40, and both shoots 34 and 37.
