Abstract

PURPOSE: To lengthen the life of a filtering film by a method wherein sludge to be treated is statically concentrated by capillary phenomenon force, pressing, etc. through a filtering cylinder, and concentrated sludge is exfoliated by centrifugal force being generated by the revolution of the filtering cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: Since sludge to be treated, which is pressed at fixed pressure and supplied in a vessel 6 for receiving the sludge, is naturally pushed against the whole surface of a filtering film 5 on an outer circumferential surface of a filtering cylinder 1, moisture in the sludge passes through the filtering film 5 and enters into the filtering cylinder 1, and the separated liquid is discharged to the outside by means of a suction pipe 12. Since a dehydrated concentrated sludge layer 14 is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the filtering cylinder 1, a drive motor 11 is driven, and the sludge layer 14 is flung away in all directions by centrifugal force being generated by the revolution of the filtering cylinder 1 at high speed and exfoliated, and discharged into a concentrated sludge storage tank. Thus, conventional scrapers are not required, and the life of the filtering film can be lengthened.
