Abstract

PURPOSE: To filter a sludge effectively without stirring said sludge by a method wherein a vacuum means reducing the pressure of a back surface side of a filter disc to lower than that of a front surface side thereof is provided and said sludge is spreaded on a filter disc by the centrifugal force to form a thin sludge layer.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge supplied to the vicinity of a central surface of a filter disc 1 from a sludge supply port 8 is apt to be spreaded to a radius direction of a filter disc 1 by a rotary centrifugal force. Because an under surface of the filter disc 1 is under reduced pressure by a suction pump 7, the water contained in the spreaded thin sludge layer is sucked. Because a concentrated sludge layer in the vicinity of the surface of the filter disc 1 is not moved by suction force of the suction pump 7, a newly supplied sludge is always contacted with a surface of a radius direction of the filter disc 1. When above-desicribed filter disc 1 is passed over a suction zone by rotation, the filtration is completed.
