Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance sludge recovery rate by evening the thickness of floating sludge and elevating the skimmer while detecting sludge concentration in order to scrape out the sludge of an even concentration in the pressure floating concentrating tank of sludge-containing waste water.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge-containing waste water is flowed through inlet pipe A into a floating concentrating tank 5 and an elevatable skimmer 8 is provided to a truck 6 which is so arranged as to move along rails over the liquid level. The sludge concentration under the liquid level is detected with a detector 9 and is converted to an electric signal by a converter 22. This signal causes the skimmer driving motor 10 being an elevating means to run, thereby enabling the sufficiently concentrated sludge to be gathered.
