Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide one-can epoxy resin paint which has good storage stability and is rapidly curable at a comparatively low temp., by a method wherein an epoxy resin which is liquid at an ordinary room temp., dicyandiamide hardener and mineral powder are blended with a urea derivative as a curing accelerator.
CONSTITUTION: (A) An epoxy resin which is liquid at an ordinary room temp., (B) dicyandiamide hardener and (C) mineral powder are blended with a urea derivative of formula (wherein X is H, halogen; R is 1W4°C alkyl) as a curing accelerator. An example of (A) is epoxy resin obtd. by the condensation of bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin. Examples of (C) are powders having a particle diameter of not more than 200μ such as silica powder or TiO2. (B) and (D) components are unreactive at an ordinary room temp. When the (B) and (D) pref. at a temp. of 100W120°C, the (D) component is rapidly dissolved in (A) and, at the same time, (B) is synergistically dissolved to react with (A) to cure (A).
