Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically manufacture the contactless bearing fixed in the air, by combining two inner and outer permanent magnets, and supporting the inner shaft at one point through utilization of properties of magnets.
CONSTITUTION: The inner magnet 1 serving as a shaft is disposed on the inside of the outer magnet 2. The inner magnet 1 is formed with a small hole at its center and a sheet 6 is attached to the inner magnet 1. When the magnet 1 is placed at the center of the outer magnet 2 with a needle-like shaft 4 being inserted into the small hole, magnet 1 is fixed in the air but its rotation is free. Subsequently, when a magnet 3 having the same form as the magnet 2 is drawn near to magnet 1 in the state that the polarity of the magnet 3 is repulsive to that of the magnet 2, the magnet 1 is afforded with a force capable of supporting the upper shaft 7. When the magnet 1 has come to a point where the repulsive force is maximal, the magnets 2, 3 are fixed by means of connecting member 8. Here, if the needle-like shaft 4 is bonded firmly to the center of a plate 5 that is fixed to magnet 3, the shaft 7 supported in the air only at the contact point of sheet 6 and the shaft 4 can be obtained. Thus, it is enabled to obtain a bearing having an extremely low frictional resistance and an extremely high sensitivity to rotation.
