Abstract
PURPOSE: To firmly bond dissimilar metal plates such as pure copper and aluminum with minimum of hit marks, by imparting shearing pressure repeatedly so that the metal plate materials at the joining part may mutually bite into the other plate within its thickness, when bonding metal plate materials by overlapping.
CONSTITUTION: When bonding dissimilar metal plate materials, such as pure copper and copper alloy, and pure copper and aluminum, the plate materials 1, 2 to be bonded are overlapped together wholly or partly, and the overlap part is clamped by dies 3, 4. By opposedly providing upper and lower punches 7, 8 on die holes 5, 6, the plate materials 1, 2 are moved reciprocally in specified vertical stroke. In this case, shearing force is applied so that the upper plate material 1 may bite into the surface of the other plate material 2 when descending and that the plate material 2 may bite into the lower side of the plate maerial 1 when ascending, thus mutually to the plate materials 1 and 2 by a depth of (t). As a result of this, the boundary parts 12a, 12b and press-fit parts 13, 13' are heated to high temperature to form weld zones W, W', respectively, so that the plate materials 1, 2 may be firmly bonded without causing hit marks.
