Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an orientation polyester film which is good suited for a magnetic tape and electrical application by improving the wear-resisting performance with addition of 2 kinds of inactive substances of particular grain size.
CONSTITUTION: An orientation polyester composed of polyester (a condensed polymer of fragrant dicarbonic acid, such as terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid, etc., and glycol, such as ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol, etc.), [A] 0.03W1 wt% of inactive susbstances (such as, silica, kaoline, kaolinite, diatomaceous earth, calcium carbonate, carbon black and glass beads, etc.) having average grain diameter of 0.8μm or less and volume shape coefficient f [a value to make maximum diameter D(μm) of projected surfaces of all the inactive substances' grains and grain volume V(μm2) become f=v/D2] of 0.08 or less, and [B] 0.002W0.1 wt% of inactive substances (the same substances as [A] above) having an average grain diameter being larger than that of [A] and smaller than 1.8μm and volume shape coefficeint f of 0.08Wπ/6.
