Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve adhesive property between the magnetic layer and the film, by forming the magnetic recording material by the magnetic layer and the biaxially oriented polyester film which contains specific wt% polyethylene glycol components and has 1.375W1.390g/cm2 film density.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic layer is formed on the biaxial polyester film which contains 0.1W10wt% polyethylene glycol components, which have repeated unit HO-(CH2-CH2-O)-nH and molecular weight 300W200,000, polyester as it is or while bound and has 1.375W1.390g/cm2 film density. Thus, since the polyester film is superior in adhesion to the magnetic layer and holds essential mechanical property and thermal dimension a stability in itself, this polyester film is suitable as the magnetic tape base film.
