Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable long-term operation of an ammonia stripper, etc. by pressurizing an absorbing soln. or the like from the stripper followed by indirect heating and direct flashing into the stripper or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Ammonia in coke oven gas is allowed to be absorbed in an ammonia-poor absorbing soln. with absorber 1, and the resulting ammonia-rich absorbing soln. is passed through heat exchanger 7, freed of H2S, CO2, etc, with contact 6, and fed to stripper 5 through stripper condenser top 10 to remove ammonia. Part of the resulting ammonia-poor absorbing soln. is circulated to absorber 1, and the remainder is passed through pressurizing pump 22, heated with indirect heater 23, and directly flashed into stripper 5, or introduced into stripper flasher 24, flashed, and fed to stripper 5 to release ammonia gas from an ammonia-rich absorbing soln. The released ammonia and steam are heat exchanged at top 10 and cooled at stripper condenser bottom 11 to pour ammonia water into fractionator feed tank 13.
