Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a generation of unevenness in the depth of machining due to a difference of machining radius of curvature for the finish work of a device, by detecting a feed position in the machining direction and counting the duration time of a prescribed state for the machining progress condition of a work. CONSTITUTION:When machining and finishing directional feed motions are given by a hydraulic cylinder 16 and control circuit 28 to perform a finish machining, a differential transformer 35 fixed to the final machining position feeds a signal of 1 to a comparator 38 and AND gate 42 to stop the lowering motion of an electrode 12. A circular orbital motion of the electrode 12 on an XY-plane causes a residual thickness of machining of a work 10, that is, its gap discharge voltage Vd to vary, and the output of a residual thickness detecting circuit 40 deriving from a comparison with a reference value Vc alternately varies from 0 to 1. When a monostable multivibrator 48 works for a preset period to continuously detect the residual thickness to be at most the prescribed value, a counter circuit 44 feeds a completion signal to a pulse current supply circuit 14.
