Abstract
PURPOSE: The dehumidifier which is so arranged as to change the water content in compressed air depending upon seasons and maintain its relative humidity always below 100% by using one of two cooling water circulating systems of different cooling water temperatures and cooling and dehumidifying gas by a heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: The cooling water circulating system B is circulated in the summer season. Compressed air is supplied from inlet 5 and is cooled down to its dew point temperature or under in a heat exchanger 2 and its relative humidity exceeds 100%. The water contents in the compressed air condense and the condensate is drawn out from the drain discharge port 8 of a mist separator 3. At this time, the cooling water temperature obtained through running of a chiller 12 is beforehand set lower by about 5°C than the atmospheric temperature. The water content in the compressed air being sent out from a delivery pipe 7 is high but its relative humidity is sufficiently below 100% and therefore production of water drops in a compressed air using apparatus 14 and pipings does not occur. In the winter season, the cooling water circulating system C is used.
