Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the leakage problem due to the sedimentation of adsorbents and reduce ventilation resistance by using porous plates for the right and left inside and outside plates of the adsorbent packed chamber and using a blind plate part having no gas permeability in the range from the top end of the right and left outside plates down to the position suitably lower than the top end.

CONSTITUTION: The gas to be treated sent from above to below in a casing 21 is treated by passing through the porous plate parts of the right and left outside side plates 6 of respective vertical type adsorption filters 1... then through both side room parts 11a of an adsorbent packed chamber 11 packed with packing material 14 such as active carbon. The gas having been treated goes from the right and left inside plates 7 consisting of porous plates over their entire surface into a central gas effluent space 9 and flows out to the downward of a receiving plate 24 through its bottom end gas effluent port 10 and gas effluent port 23. At this time, the respective filters 1... are disposed in vertical type and therefore as compared to conventional horizontal type, the ventilation resistance is low and the occurrence of any decrease in rated air flow is obviated. In addition, the range P is made into a blind plate part 6a, and therefore the leakage of the gas to be treated that may occur owing to sedimentation of adsorbents 14 is obviated.
