Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound in high conversion ratio and selectivity, by the isomerization of ethynylcarbinol, in the presence of a germanium compound containing vanadium having an excellent thermal stability as a catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R1 is H or hydrocarbon group; R2 is hydrocarbon group, or R1 and R2 form a cyclic group; R3 is H or hydrocarbon group is isomerized, in the presence of a compound of formula III (L is hydrocarbon group; R is L, or Ge-(L)3; m is 1W3; n is 0, 1 or 2, and m+n is 3) as a catalyst, e.g. tris-(trimethylgermanoxy)-vanadium oxide, in an amount of 0.02W20mol% based on the raw material, to give the object compound of formula II. The catalyst is prepared by the reaction of silver orthovanadate with a trialkyl-germanium halide.
