Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound in high conversion and selectivity, by isomerizing a primary allyl alcohol using tris-(trimethyl or triphenyl-germanoxy or silanoxy)vanadium oxide, etc. as a catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula V (R1 is H or lower hydrocarbon group; R2 is hydrocarbon group or may form a cyclic group together with R1) is prepared by isomerizing the compound of formula IV in the presence of a catalyst comprising a vanadium-containing polymer obtained by the condensation of the compound of formula III (R" and R''' are hydrocarbon group; X is halogen) with (A) the compound of formulaI[L is hydrocarbon group; R is L or Ge(L)3; m is 1, 2 or 3; n is 0, 1 or 2; m+n is 3], (B) the compound of formula II[R' is L or Si(L)3]or (C) the compound of formula M3VO4 or MVO3 (M is alkali metal or ammonium). Any of the above catalysts keeps its high activity during the reaction, is stable at high temperature, and can be used repeatedly.
