Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a linear pulse motor stopping point and positional information on the motor to be always in agreement with each other, by carrying out a position detecting operation with two position detectors each of which consists of a yoke, an exciter coil and a detecting coil.
CONSTITUTION: A position detector 11 is integrally formed with a slider of a linear pulse motor, and moved in the direction of an arrow on a stator 12. This detector 11 consists of a yoke 13, and an exciter coil 14 and a detecting coil 15 which are wound around the yoke 13. Both end portions 16, 17 of the yoke 13 have two teeth 161, 162; 171, 172, respectively, all of which are opposed to teeth 18 of the stator 12 at the same pitch such that the teeth 161, 162, 171, 172 are vertically spaced at a predetermined distance from the teeth 18. A position detector 21 consisting of a yoke 19, an exciter coil 20 and a detecting coil 32 just at the detector 11 is integrally formed with the detector 11 by combining them by means of a non-magnetic member 22. Outputs from the detectors 11, 21 are subjected to subtraction to eliminate a certain amount of voltage which has no relation with a position. Thus, a linear pulse motor stopping point and positional information on the motor are always in agreement with other.
