Abstract

PURPOSE: To safely and automatically replenish the anode metal without stopping the plating operation by a method wherein the anode metal is formed into spherical balls and is dropped through a specific inclined chute above an electric plating bath into an anode box in the bath.
CONSTITUTION: The ball type anode metals 8 contained in a hopper 10 are continuously taken out one by one via an endless vertical conveyor 15 and supplied to a cylindrical or squared inclined chute 25 having cross sectional area nearly equal to the anode metal ball. The metal ball drops by it own weight through the chute and enters a porous anode box 3 in a plating bath 2. An object 5 to be plated is contained in a porous barrel 4 in which the object 5 is changed negative through contact 7 swinging around the cathode shaft 6 and the object is plated.
