Abstract
PURPOSE:To rationally heat a material to be heated and to save a fuel using quantity by a method wherein, in a direct firing type continuous heating furnace, a side burner within a furnace is ignited or extinguished, and the control of a burning quantity is carried out corresponding to the change of a position of a material to be hated within a furnace. CONSTITUTION:Plural heating zones Z1, Z2, Z3... are provided in a continuous type heatig furnace F and, in each zone, plural side burners 1-3, 4-6; 11-13, 14-16; 21-23, 24-26 are provided to both sides in a longitudinal direction as well as tracking systems T1-T6 and controlling apparatuses C1-C6 are provided. By detecting a position of a material to be heated wthin a heating furnace F by the tracking systems and applying the signal into the controlling apparatuses, a number of a burner near to the said material to be heated is controlled and burned, and, on the other hand, an unnecessary burner is extinguished. Or, instead of burning or extinguishing, a valve of a burner is regulated to regulate a burning quantity of a fuel and only necessary burner is operated. Thereby, the heating of a material to be heated is rationally carried out as well as a fuel consumption is reduced.
