Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of electrode lead-out termianls and the number of driving circuits by forming the control electrode for controlling ion current to multilayer structure and group-controlling the pass and block of the ions of the ion pass holes. CONSTITUTION:Pass and block control of ions is accomplished with the control electrode. The control electrode in the electrostatic recorder forming electrostatic imagess on insulation layer surface has at least 3 layers of electrodes 5c, 5d, 5e with the insulation layers 5a, 5b in-between, wherein the other one layer of the electrodes 5c with respect to the reference electrodes 5d of the layer which becomes a reference is let to be the A group electrodes common to plural ion pass holes 611 thru 613, ...641 thru 643 and the other one layer of electrodes 5e are let to be the B group electrode common to the plural ion pass holes 611 thru 641,...613 thru 643 belonging to the mutually different A group electrodes, thus when the voltage permitting the ion pass of both A group electrodes and B group electrode is applied to the refernece electrodes 5d, the group control for allowing the ions to pass only through the ion pass holes belonging to both group electrodes is accomplished. Hence, the number of electrode lead-out termainals and the number of driving circuits may be reduced.
