Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a simple apparatus capable of controlling the air-fuel ratio to a proper value, by detecting the engine torque indirectly from air-flow rate, and controlling the fuel injection rate in response to the engine torque thus detected together with signals from various sensors for detecting other operational conditions of engine. CONSTITUTION:In throttle chamber 12, there are provided a bypass passage 54 having air-flow sensor 56 and an air passage 16 having air-flow control valve 18 which is driven by solenoid 20. Fuel passage 24 is communicated to main and slow- speed fuel passages 30, 60 via fuel chamber 28. Piston 40 disposed downwardly of solenoid 44 is moved up and down by the solenoid 44 for controlling the amount of fuel to be supplied to fuel chamber 28. Here, since air-flow rate is proportional to the engine torque, output signal from sensor 56 is afforded as torque signal to control circuit 100, which is also afforded with signals from sensor 200 for detecting various operational conditions of engine. With such an arrangement, correction for the quantity of air and fuel is accomplished by means of solenoids 20, 44 which are controlled in response to said signals from sensors 56, 200.
