Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily perform the work of insertion of a wire electrode into guides and prolong a life of portions of the guides, by forming an external shape of dies of the die-shaped electrode guides into a chopped head conical shape simultaneously constructing the dies with diamond.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode guides 3 with guide portions havig a diameter larger than that of a wire electrode 1 in their centers are processed externally into a chopped head conical shape and fixed to holder main bodies 4. The electrode guide 3 comprises a straight portion for serving a guide part and is constituted by a diamond portion 3a formed in such a manner that its tapered angle gradually becomes larger from the straight portion for the wire easily to be inserted and a metallic portion 3b provided likely to surround said portion 3a. In this way, the electrode guide 3 can be highly accurately attached and detached, while the wire electrode can be easily inserted into the electrode guide.
