Abstract

PURPOSE:To work out a reverse-phased electrochemical machining electrode, a slit and a pool with high accuracy and less materials by using an electric discharge machine. CONSTITUTION:A wire cut electric discharge maching cuts off a workpiece with an electrode wire in specified diameter, which is used to remove an electrode 2 from a base metal 1 in specified thickness to impart desired shaped on it exactly as an original form of cavity on a die steel. The electrode 2, if shaped complicated considerably, can be manufactured in a similar form as that of cavity accurately with the phase reversed. The electrode 2 in turn is refit on the way into the hole in the base metal 1 to form an electrolytic pool 3. An electrolytic-solution-injection slit 4 is shaped accurately by the wire cut electric discharge machine. This can save materials.
