Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve machining precision and efficiency by a method wherein a relatively high machining speed is applied in the early stage of the second cutting machining, and the electric discharge machining is conducted at such a machining speed as to obtain a predetermined surface roughness in the final stage. CONSTITUTION:When a rough machining which is the first cutting machining is finished at A, a cutting surface 12 of the work 30 is apart from a design dimension surface 10 at a distance of SIGMAepsilon(I, J). Then the machining by electric energy E(1) in relation to the thickness t(J) of the work 30 is selected by a computer 56, an offset amount suitable for the machining width epsilon(I, J) is determined and the first- round second cutting is conducted under these conditions.
