Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the work efficiency by providing a process in which a wire-diameter correction value is set on a control program the offset amount obtained based on both the measured electric discharge distance which has been measured on the way of preliminary machining process while once interrupting machining and the wire diameter. CONSTITUTION:A wire-diameter correction value appropriate for carrying out principal machining on a work 1 along a specified machining shape is automatically obtained by preliminary electric discharge machining which is carried out by utilizing broken material regions 5 in the work 1 itself within a series of continuous processes without preparing another spare material separately from the work 1 as before, and it is set on a computer NC control program. And in the subsequent principal machining process, while the setting of wire- diameter correction value is executed, machining is carried out along a specified machining shape. Accordingly, a higher dimensional accuracy as compared with conventional methods can be secured, and the machining time can be significantly reduced.
