Abstract

PURPOSE:To effect a machining of a work with a tool electrode having a correct configuration and dimension within an ellowance at all times by a method wherein a machining process for correction of the tool electrode by means of a reference electrode is incorporated into a program for machining the work. CONSTITUTION:A standard electrode device 23 is provided in a working tank 21 and a machining of a work 22 is intermitted at every time when a tool electrode 7 has removed a constant volume of metal of the work to effect a correcting machining of a tip of the consumed electrode 7 with a standard electrode provided on the device 23. This machining may be incorporated into a NC program beforehand, therefore, an alternative electrode for a counter measure for the consumption is not necessitated. Thus, the machining of the work 22 may be effected with the electrode 7 having a correct configuration and dimension within an allowance at all times and a complicated mold engraving machining may be enabled freely.
