Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the return amount of exhaust gas in accordance with the increase of the number of revolutions of an engine and reduce noxious ingredients in the exhaust gas effectively by transmitting negative pressures in a suction monifold and a Venturi tube alternatively to an exhaust-gas return control valve.
CONSTITUTION: Suction and exhaust pipes 1 and 2 are connected by a return passage 3 provided with an exhaust-gas return control valve 7. The first control valve 12 is connected to a diaphragm 9 on which a control valve 7 is fixed. A device 23 is divided into three chambers 8, 13 and 22. A negative pressure near a throttle valve 4 is introduced into the chamber 8, and the control valve 7 and the first control valve 12 are opened. As the result, a manifold negative pressure is introduced into a negative pressure chamber 16 of the second control valve 15 via chambers 22 and 13 to draw up a diaphragm 15'. Consequently, a negative pressure in a Venturi tube 20 is introduced into the chamber 8 via passages 19 and 6, increasing the opening degree of the control valve 7.
