Abstract
PURPOSE:To equalize photoelectric conversion efficient in collector by providing the first stage diode consisting of a curved plate having a large curvature radius for the portion facing a photocathode and a small curvature radius for the portion facing the second stage diode. CONSTITUTION:The first stage diode 1 is formed by combining an arc whose central angle is 60 deg. with arc whose central angle is 90 deg. in such a way as to inscribe at a radius as much as 0.4 times that of the arc whose central angle is 60 deg.. The electron emitted from the left end 31 of the photocathode 3 enters the point 41 close to the third stage diode 6 of the first stage diode 4, the electron emitted from the center 32 enters the center 42, and the electron from the right end 33 enters into the point 43 close to the photocathode, from which secondary electron is emitted. Such a secondary electron emits with an initial energy distribution of several eV or less from each point of the first stage diode 4 and a directional distribution analogous to F=costheta, if the emitting angle to the normal is theta, and all the secondary electrons enter the second stage diode 5.
