Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the space occupied by reflecting mirror and discharge tube as well as enhance the efficiency of flash radiation by attaching a conductive light reflector concentrically to a tubular bulb and by using the ends of the reflector as ring trigger electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of the tubular bulb 1 is closely attached by the metal plate 5 plated with a light reflective metal, e.g., Cr, etc. The metal plate 5 is a cylinder with the light permeable opening 5a and its both ends are provided with the ring-like legs 5b1 and 5b2 as trigger electrodes. These legs 5b1 and 5b2 are divided into two, respectively, so as to enable the tubular bulb 1 to be clamped and also the one end of the metal plate 5 is provided with the terminal 5c by means of punching, etc., which is connected to the trigger lead 6. Thus, the reflecting mirror can be allowed to come near the discharge tube and the space occupied by the reflecting mirror and the flash discharge tube can therefore be made small, raising the efficiency of flash radiation.
