Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the space occupied by a reflecting mirror and also insulated space between a reflecting mirror and a discharge tube by the method in which a conductive light reflector is attached concentrically to a tubular bulb and heat- radiating fins are formed on the periphery of the end of the reflector, serving as a ring trigger electrode. CONSTITUTION:The metal conductor 5, whose surface is plated with a light reflective metal, e.g., Cr, etc., and also provided with plural heat-radiating fins 5a, is closely attached to the outer surface of the tubular bulb 1. The conductor 5 is a cylinder the light-permeable opening 5a and its both ends are provided with the ring-like leg 5c as the trigger electrodes and one of the heat-radiating fins 5a is connected to the trigger lead 6. Thus, the space required, including insulated space, can be minimized and the utilizing efficiency of radiation energy can be raised.
